I often return to Heaney’s poem Miracle. I love his attention on the friends, this is where he sees the miracle. So often we miss it! Heaney uses the word “tilt” in a few other poems, for example look up his poem Skylight! He urges a different perspective, he desires a wider, deeper meaning. In need of a skylight!
Those of you who have been reading my blog for a long time, know my joy and delight in the poems of Seamus Heaney. Every time I go back and read a poem over and over again, new things happen. As he sitsContinue reading “Digging”

Ireland tourist Board hasContinue reading “Relic of Memory”

“Making the world a little more tiltable”
The journey through Lent is not necessarily a solo endeavor. Although we may choose to walk alone, we do so in the company of so many saints, dead and alive. Lent moves us to Easter and so our journey is toward the celebration of the transformative power of God’s love and grace. This love andContinue reading ““Making the world a little more tiltable””
